Program Manager, Health Finance

Michael Page seeks a Senior Program Manager for Health Finance in Geneva. This on-site contract role leads a major strategic initiative, overseeing financial performance, procurement, and cross-functional delivery.

The company is looking for an experienced professional to provide end-to-end leadership and project management for a significant Health Finance Strategic Initiative. The position involves translating high-level strategic objectives into actionable, costed plans while ensuring rigorous oversight of financial performance and project lifecycle execution on behalf of the budgetholder.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain robust frameworks for approvals, financial oversight, sourcing, and performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Convert strategic goals into prioritized, costed, and executable plans to ensure effective operational delivery.
• Coordinate across technical leads, internal departments, partners, and stakeholders to drive successful program completion.
• Manage the initiative's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure monitoring, and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
• Utilize data analysis and evidence to guide decision-making, challenge stakeholders constructively, and set priorities.
• Implement strong monitoring, evaluation, and reporting mechanisms to manage risks and ensure performance standards.
• Provide clear, structured updates and insights to senior management and governance bodies through strategic communications.
• Oversee sourcing and procurement activities, from defining requirements to contracting suppliers, ensuring value for money and quality.
• Mentor team members and share best practices to support those managing additional funding streams.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, enhancing processes, and offering technical leadership on key projects.

Requirements

• A strong academic background in economics, finance, public policy, development, health, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in project, financial, and performance management, with a focus on designing systems for accountability and results tracking.
• Proven expertise in procurement and sourcing, particularly in achieving value for money within technical assistance or research contexts.
• Ability to manage complex environments and deliver results under pressure, coordinating across multiple teams with tight deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to influencing diverse internal and external actors.
• Strong analytical and data skills, including proficiency in Excel, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and high-quality reporting.
• High level of rigor and operational excellence, with attention to detail, solid IT skills, problem-solving capability, and a willingness to mentor others.
