CERN seeks a Project Budget & Resource Coordinator to manage financial planning and resource tracking for its IT Department's scientific initiatives in Geneva.
This position supports projects at the forefront of science and technology within CERN’s IT Department. The IT Department supports a broad portfolio of international scientific and technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist with budget planning, forecasting, and maintaining financial records, tracking files, and reporting tools.
- Prepare and consolidate financial reports, budget updates, and analytical material for internal reviews, governance meetings, and audits.
- Monitor expenditure, validate financial transactions and purchase requests, and help ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial rules.
- Analyse financial and resource data to support planning, prioritisation, and decision-making.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and resource assumptions, helping to align operational planning with budgetary constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Finance, Business Administration, Project Administration or a related field.
- Experience and strong interest in resource planning, financial monitoring, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel and working with structured data.
- Experience using financial or accounting systems, ideally including ERP or institutional finance tools.
- Knowledge of budget planning and personnel and material resource coordination.
- Spoken and written English.
