CERN seeks a mid-level Project Engineer/Scientist for radiation effects in Geneva. The role involves researching radiation impacts on materials and electronics, designing experiments, and collaborating on accelerator projects.

This position centers on investigating how radiation affects materials and electronic components. The successful candidate will support the development and testing of hardware used in CERN's particle accelerators.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze how radiation impacts various materials and electronic devices.
  • Develop and run experiments to evaluate the durability of components under radiation exposure.
  • Work with diverse teams to apply research results to ongoing accelerator initiatives.
  • Draft technical documentation and deliver presentations on findings.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or Master's degree in Applied Physics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrate solid expertise in radiation physics and materials science.
  • Possess hands-on experience with experimental configurations and analyzing data.
  • Show strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
