Project Construction Manager

Bhend Elektroplan GmbH in Zürich seeks a Senior Project Construction Manager for onsite, full-time work. The role involves overseeing erection planning, site coordination, and constructability assessments for industrial projects, ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, time, and cost goals.

This position is responsible for managing erection plans for industrial projects, aligning them with health, safety, environmental, quality, time, and budget targets. It supports site teams in meeting work package goals and involves developing crane and erection concepts, sequencing, and constructability reviews to ensure smooth execution.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage erection plans for projects, ensuring they meet HSE, quality, schedule, and cost standards.
• Coordinate resource planning with the Project Manager and HSMIC.
• Assist site staff in achieving objectives for assigned work packages.
• Define and source installation packages and tools in collaboration with the Site Manager.
• Recruit and contract third-party workers for site operations.
• Track project progress, spot risks and deviations, and take corrective actions with the Project Director.
• Design and implement erection and crane strategies, including sequencing.
• Perform constructability evaluations and schedule site activities.
• Enforce company HSE standards and best practices on-site.
• Deliver regular updates to the Project Director on progress, risks, and site operations.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in plant erection, ideally in large industrial facilities.
• Proven background in site management, erection planning, and cross-functional project collaboration.
• Solid understanding of market and product dynamics in the relevant sector.
• Capability to develop strategic plans based on detailed analysis.
• Commercial judgment to make decisions and influence outcomes within assigned authority.
• Fluent communication skills in German and English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, SAP, and PIRS.
• Valid SCC and IOSH certifications.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams and engage in technical discussions with subcontractors.
