Senior Project Manager

Buhlergroup seeks a Senior Project Manager in Switzerland to oversee large-scale engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality while managing project P&L and team performance.

The company is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects related to the production of machines, tools, and equipment. This role carries significant autonomy and is accountable for the financial performance, schedule, and quality of assigned projects, ensuring they meet all targets while optimizing margins.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the project strategy from the initial purchase order through final acceptance and project closure, including resolving snag list items.
• Guide the project team to meet and enhance cost, schedule, quality, and EHS objectives.
• Secure agreement on the project schedule baseline with all relevant parties at the project outset.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities effectively.
• Handle project deviations, approve technical change orders, and develop claim strategies for customers, partners, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site briefing meetings and ensure all necessary documentation is transferred to site personnel.
• Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future project outcomes.

Requirements

• A four-year degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent training and experience.
• Proven expertise in project management.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and decision-making skills within team environments.
• Experience leading work groups without direct authority.
• Ability to anticipate, identify, and manage risks.
• Capability to manage customer relationships effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of die casting machinery specifications, automation, and processes.
• Over five years of professional project management experience.
• PMP certification.
• German language proficiency.
