Bühlergroup seeks a Lead Automation Engineer in Switzerland to build a new team and lead complex automation projects for food, feed, and mobility sectors.
This position focuses on establishing a new team from scratch while driving demanding automation initiatives for plant control systems. The role ensures that design outcomes align with customer expectations and supports project engineers with specialized technical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and support to Project Engineers regarding their specific areas of expertise.
- Verify that final designs satisfy client requirements and expectations.
- Design and execute complex automation projects within plant control systems.
- Create software concepts derived from technical documentation and project specifications.
- Manage project planning, controlling, budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Write and validate PLC software following established industry standards.
- Perform commissioning activities for plant control systems both locally and internationally.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Possess at least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrate a track record of designing and implementing automation solutions.
- Show strong capabilities in planning, organizing tasks, and setting priorities.
- Have hands-on experience within the industrial automation sector.
- Understand core manufacturing principles.
- Bring professional project management experience.
- Be proficient in English.
- Be available to travel between 30% and 50% of the time.
