The company seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer in Uzwil, CH, to develop PLC and visualization software for machine control systems using Siemens platforms, C#, and Angular.
This position is responsible for engineering robust automation and software solutions for machine control systems. The role centers on designing and maintaining visualization interfaces with C# backend services and Angular frontends, while translating technical requirements into functional implementations. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including a development group in China, to support machine commissioning and provide advanced troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Create and deploy PLC software for machine control systems utilizing Siemens automation platforms.
- Build and maintain visualization software, encompassing C# backend services and Angular-based frontend applications.
- Evaluate technical specifications and convert them into reliable automation and software solutions.
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, process, and project teams, as well as the development group in China.
- Assist with machine commissioning, troubleshooting, optimization, and provide third-level support for machine control systems.
Requirements
- A degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Several years of experience in industrial automation.
- Strong proficiency in PLC programming, machine control software, relevant automation standards, and C# backend development.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including modular design, testing, version control, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams.
- Very good English and good German skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% per year.
Nice to have
- Rockwell knowledge.
- Ideally Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS frontend development.
- Ideally from a University of Applied Sciences or ETH.
- Willingness to learn data science, data analytics, and machine learning methods for industrial applications.
