QA Test Manager with execution and Coordination Activities - Consultant

Union Bancaire Privée seeks a Senior QA Test Manager in Geneva to lead risk-based testing, coordinate execution activities, and ensure regulatory compliance within private banking.

This position operates within the private banking sector, where the primary objective is to safeguard operations through rigorous, risk-focused testing and strict adherence to regulatory standards. The role bridges technical quality assurance with project coordination to ensure seamless delivery of banking services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply test strategies that prioritize risks while respecting project timelines and regulatory boundaries.
• Oversee comprehensive test plans that include functional, integration, non-functional, and regression testing phases.
• Run end-to-end test scenarios covering key private banking workflows such as client onboarding, KYC procedures, payments, and treasury operations.
• Verify backend system behavior by analyzing logs, executing SQL queries, and performing API validations.
• Ensure consistent application of QA standards, documentation, and traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Utilize JIRA and Xray to manage requirements coverage, test design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Deliver regular status reports and key performance indicators to the QA Lead, Release Management, and Project Management teams.
• Identify, prioritize, and monitor defects, leading or joining triage sessions with Development, Product, and Operations teams.
• Assist in defining release entry and exit criteria, providing go/no-go recommendations for deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies and document acceptance criteria.
• Support the execution of UAT, manage defect triage during this phase, and prepare for final sign-off.
• Identify and implement improvements in test design, data management, automation stability, and reporting mechanisms.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in the banking industry, with a preference for Private Banking or Wealth Management backgrounds.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and reconciliation across different systems.
• Proven experience in defining UAT strategies, managing test data, and orchestrating testing environments.
• Solid background in both manual and automated test execution.
• Hands-on expertise with JIRA and Xray for test case management, traceability, and reporting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Must hold Swiss residence status.
• Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of payments, trading, and treasury flows, as well as client lifecycle processes like KYC/AML and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium.
• Ability to read and interpret test code written in Java or Python to understand failures.
• Proficiency in German is considered an advantage.
