ERServices seeks a Senior Quality Engineer in Le Locle, CH, to lead quality validation, supplier interface, and process improvement within a medical device manufacturing environment.
This senior position sits within the Jabil Le Locle factory quality team and reports directly to the Supervisor Quality Engineering. The role focuses on ensuring products comply with quality and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Partner with production and engineering groups to guarantee that manufactured items satisfy all quality and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for validation activities, including new equipment, product launches, process enhancements, capacity expansions, and test method updates.
- Manage the quality relationship with suppliers by tracking validation tasks, evaluating First Article Inspections, and verifying measurement methods and control plans.
- Develop quality control documentation and suggest appropriate tools and methodologies.
- Draft First Article Inspection instructions and detailed inspection plans.
- Evaluate nonconforming items, propose disposition decisions, and assist in resolving quality-related issues.
- Contribute to investigations, corrective and preventive actions, product disposition, and effectiveness monitoring.
- Drive product and process improvement initiatives using CAPA and Kaizen methodologies.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits through Gemba walks and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments for manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, though equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering roles.
- Background in the medical device industry with knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21CFR820 regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation capabilities.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis tools and methods, such as SPC and capability studies.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to upholding quality standards.
- Willingness to follow established procedures and adhere to safety and security protocols.
- Fluency in both English and French.
Nice to have
- Experience with CNC machining and surface treatment processes.
- Familiarity with production and quality systems such as MES, SAP, ETQ, and Babtec.
