Requirements & Validation Engineer (W/M)

SQLI seeks a Requirements & Validation Engineer in Geneva to manage lifecycle requirements and execute verification activities for critical communication and navigation systems.

This position is responsible for ensuring that complex, mission-critical systems for communication, surveillance, and navigation comply with all operational, technical, and regulatory standards. The engineer oversees the entire requirements lifecycle and leads the definition and execution of verification and validation processes to guarantee system quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, and document system requirements while maintaining full traceability across the project lifecycle.
  • Convert regulatory, operational, and stakeholder needs into clear, measurable, and testable specifications.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies, including test plans, strategies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate traceability links between requirements, test scenarios, execution results, and supporting evidence.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct laboratory, integration, and operational testing activities.
  • Execute regression testing after software releases, upgrades, or system modifications.
  • Generate validation reports, compliance documentation, traceability records, and audit-ready evidence.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, safety, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues on best practices for requirements and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements engineering, verification & validation, systems integration, or testing within regulated or safety-critical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements and test management tools, such as Polarion or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to critical infrastructure systems.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with communication, navigation, or surveillance technologies.
  • Additional knowledge of French and/or German.
