Research Assistant supporting academic work in family law, medical law, and human rights at the University of Zurich. This part-time hybrid role involves legal research, publication support, and student coordination.

This position supports the research and teaching activities of the Chair of Prof. Dr. iur. Alice Margaria. The role focuses on legal scholarship, manuscript preparation, and educational coordination within a prominent Swiss academic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth legal research covering topics such as family law, medical law, human rights, gender studies, and reproduction law.
  • Edit and prepare academic manuscripts for submission to leading international legal journals and publishing houses.
  • Support the organization and execution of an international workshop that will result in the Oxford Handbook on Families and the Law.
  • Set up and manage course materials on the OLAT platform and serve as a point of contact for enrolled students.

Requirements

  • Possess or be nearing completion of a high-quality undergraduate degree in law.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in interdisciplinary legal fields, particularly family law, human rights, gender studies, and reproduction law.
  • Show reliability and a strong willingness to learn new concepts and methods.
  • Fluently communicate and work in both German and English.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with additional languages, particularly French and Italian.
