Lonza seeks a Scientist for Laboratory Automation in QC (Visp, CH) to enhance efficiency and data integrity through automated solutions. Mid-level role requiring scientific background and GMP knowledge.
This position focuses on advancing Quality Control laboratories by introducing and refining automation technologies. The primary objective is to boost analytical speed, ensure strict data integrity, and improve overall operational efficiency while adhering to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with laboratory staff to assess, design, and deploy automated QC methods and systems.
- Refine current automated workflows to increase accuracy, speed, and overall efficiency.
- Perform validation and qualification of automated software and hardware according to GMP guidelines and internal protocols.
- Draft and update technical documentation, including specifications, validation plans, reports, and standard operating procedures.
- Educate QC team members on new automated tools and updated laboratory processes.
- Offer technical support and resolve issues related to automation equipment and software.
- Partner with IT, Quality Assurance, and Engineering departments to create lasting automation solutions.
Requirements
- Hold an apprenticeship, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
- Possess a minimum of three years of experience in laboratory automation, preferably within a regulated QC setting.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in developing, implementing, and validating automated systems.
- Understand GMP regulations and the requirements of regulated quality environments.
- Communicate clearly in both German and English.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with LIMS and data analysis tools within laboratory contexts.
- Programming abilities in Python, C#, or VBScript.
