Roche seeks a Senior Associate for its pCMC team in Basel to lead preclinical formulation development and physico-chemical characterization of small molecule drug candidates.
This position sits within the preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (pCMC) department of the Small Molecule Research organization. The primary purpose of the role is to evaluate the developability of potential drug candidates and create robust preclinical formulations to support early-stage research.
Responsibilities
- Design and carry out laboratory experiments to perform physico-chemical characterization of new drug molecules.
- Create formulation strategies for preclinical studies, covering multiple routes of administration.
- Ensure laboratory equipment remains functional by organizing maintenance and strictly adhering to Safety, Health, and Environment protocols.
- Leverage digital laboratory tools and actively participate in the development of innovative digital solutions and automation workflows.
Requirements
- Completion of an apprenticeship, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biopharmaceutics, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong grasp of the drug development lifecycle, with specific expertise in designing, developing, and analyzing preclinical formulations.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication.
Nice to have
- Prior work experience within the pharmaceutical industry or adjacent sectors.
- Ability to communicate in German.
