Associate Analytical Expert

Sobi seeks an Associate Analytical Expert in Basel to manage critical analytical materials for product release and support global CMC science initiatives.

This position supports Sobi’s Global CMC Science & Technology team by ensuring the reliable supply of critical analytical materials for product release at contract laboratories. The role reports to the Group Head of Analytics in Stockholm and helps shape how medicines are developed and distributed worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous oversight of critical analytical materials required for product release and monitor stock levels.
• Track material usage, forecast demand, conduct inventory checks, develop supply plans, place orders, and update stock records.
• Ensure the lifecycle management, compliance, and reliability of critical analytical materials used in analytical methods at contract laboratories.
• Coordinate with external partners to guarantee the steady delivery of analytical data, protocols, and reports related to critical materials.
• Provide analytical expertise across various product-related activities.
• Assist with analytical method transfers and support product stability and shelf-life studies.
• Support investigations into deviations, out-of-trend (OOT) and out-of-specification (OOS) results, as well as manage changes and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Identify, evaluate, and implement improvements in the analytical team’s workflows.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of common QC laboratory analytical methods, such as chromatography, spectroscopy, ELISA, and bioassays.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and/or contract laboratories (CMOs/CLOs).
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Strong written and spoken English skills are required.
