Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG seeks a Senior Expert Analytical Scientist in Basel for oligonucleotide analysis. The hybrid role requires a Master's degree, liquid chromatography expertise, and GMP knowledge.
This position focuses on the independent management of analytical workflows for oligonucleotide drug substances and products. The scientist will actively participate in laboratory operations while applying specialized analytical concepts to support project goals.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and document analytical studies for oligonucleotides without direct supervision.
- Develop and introduce novel laboratory techniques and methodologies.
- Resolve technical challenges with analytical instruments and methods by providing scientific explanations and fixes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share technical knowledge and establish best practices.
- Draft and evaluate analytical documentation, including validation protocols, standard operating procedures, and raw data records.
- Coordinate laboratory schedules, monitor ongoing experiments, and analyze resulting data for assigned projects.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and minimizing regulatory findings.
Requirements
- Master's degree in analytical chemistry or a comparable qualification.
- Two to three years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Proven proficiency in liquid chromatography techniques, specifically IPRP, AEX, and HILIC.
- Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory quality standards.
- Fluent command of English for both written and verbal communication.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Coulometry for water determination, UV-Spectrometry for assay or melting point analysis, and colorimetry or turbidimetry methods.
- Previous background in oligonucleotide analytical testing.
