PwC Zurich seeks a Senior Associate or Manager for its Liquidity & Funding team within Strategy & Transformation Banking. The role focuses on advising banking clients on liquidity management, funding strategies, and regulatory compliance in a global, interdisciplinary environment.
This position sits within PwC's Strategy & Transformation Banking Team in Zurich, specifically embedded in the Liquidity & Funding (L&F) group. The role exists to assist banking clients in modernizing their liquidity and funding frameworks, optimizing opportunity cost efficiency, and meeting both internal and external regulatory demands. The professional will collaborate closely with Finance, Banking Restructuring, and Risk teams while operating within a global network that shares industry insights on liquidity and funding.
Responsibilities
- Drive the go-to-market strategy for liquidity and funding services and lead project delivery for major banking clients.
- Design and implement solutions that enable clients to measure, manage, and deploy liquid assets effectively across short-term operational and mid-term structural horizons, integrating these insights into risk management strategies amid rising interest rates.
- Enhance the service portfolio for the liquidity and funding practice and contribute thought leadership to the banking sector.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams within PwC, leveraging and building connections with groups specializing in big data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Requirements
- Master's degree from a reputable university or ETH in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical aptitude and logical reasoning, with advanced proficiency in Excel and other quantitative tools, plus the ability to present concepts clearly in PowerPoint.
- Commitment to self-directed, continuous learning in banking practices throughout one's career.
- Over 3 years of experience for Senior Associate or 5 years for Manager roles, with substantial hands-on background in the banking sector or consulting, particularly on liquidity and funding topics including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and collaboration with Trading, Treasury, Financial Risk, or Finance and Accounting departments.
- Deep understanding of complex banking products.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to international client sites when necessary, though not mandatory for all assignments.
Nice to have
- German language proficiency is highly valued, with French and other languages also welcomed.
- Programming capabilities, particularly in Python, are strongly recommended.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are considered a significant advantage.
