(Senior) Cloud Security Engineer (80-100%)

Gridvision Engineering GmbH seeks a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to secure its Azure platform in Aarau, ensuring national power supply resilience through robust cloud security practices.

This position sits within the Cloud Platform team, where the primary mission is to guarantee the secure operation and ongoing evolution of the Azure cloud infrastructure. By maintaining a highly available and modern IT environment, the role directly supports the stability of Switzerland's power supply.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy security controls within the cloud environment, adhering to industry best practices.
• Proactively identify and evaluate potential cyber security threats affecting the cloud platform.
• Establish and execute preventive strategies to reduce identified cyber security risks.
• Collaborate on cloud projects and operational tasks by defining protection needs and architecting security solutions.
• Develop, document, and regularly update cloud security standards and conceptual frameworks.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science.
• Multiple years of professional experience in cyber security, with a specific emphasis on cloud environments.
• Hands-on background in offensive security activities, such as penetration testing, security audits, or Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions.
• Deep understanding of hyperscaler technologies, especially Microsoft Azure, including its SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS offerings.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Git and Terraform, along with CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
• Fluent communication abilities in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
• Familiarity with established cyber security frameworks and standards, such as the ISO/IEC 270xx series or NIST guidelines.
