Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Elca Informatik AG seeks a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer in Pully, CH to design and maintain secure, automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and ELCA Sovereign Cloud while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance deployment reliability and system performance.

The company is looking for a professional to architect and sustain scalable, secure cloud environments on Microsoft Azure and ELCA Sovereign Cloud. This position focuses on partnering with development, security, and operations groups to boost deployment stability, system efficiency, and overall cloud maturity.

Responsibilities

• Architect and sustain cloud infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Puppet.
• Create and oversee CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Guarantee the high availability, performance, security, and scalability of Azure environments.
• Partner with development groups to support cloud-native and hybrid workloads.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers in cloud and hybrid settings.
• Deploy monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain system health and reliability.
• Apply DevOps best practices for version control, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architecture design and technical decision-making.
• Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous optimization.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps standards and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps / Azure DevOps Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity)
• Solid expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required, Puppet or similar)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Good Linux and/or Windows system administration knowledge
• Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of security, networking, and cloud governance concepts
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues

Nice to have

• Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-900, DevOps Engineer Expert)
• Kubernetes CKA/CKS certifications
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes / AKS)
• Knowledge of configuration management and secret management practices
• Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
