Senior Data Engineer - Azure, AWS, Databricks

Elca Informatik AG seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Pully, CH, to design scalable cloud data platforms using Azure, AWS, and Databricks for strategic business decisions.

The company is looking for a senior professional to build modern, high-performance data ecosystems that support major public and private organizations. This role focuses on leveraging cloud technologies and big data tools to create solutions that drive strategic business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Architect and construct enterprise-level cloud data platforms from scratch.
• Create scalable data pipelines and distributed systems for large-scale data integration.
• Partner with business stakeholders, software engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
• Engage in the entire project lifecycle, including strategy, architecture, implementation, deployment, and optimization.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence within the team.
• Support innovation initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and technical pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to the company's Data & AI thought leadership through innovation and best practices.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms, or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in SQL, data architecture, ETL/ELT, and large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation.
• Knowledge of Terraform, real-time or micro-batch architectures.
• Strong communication skills in French and English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with data mesh, data products, or AI/ML environments.
