Senior Consultant - US-Focused Markets Group (US-FMG) FAAS

EY seeks a Senior Consultant to lead US GAAP and SOX 404 projects for its Swiss FAAS team, driving growth and delivering tailored solutions to clients in Zürich.

This role is designed to accelerate the expansion of the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice in Switzerland. The specialist will handle complex US GAAP, SOX 404, and US capital market initiatives, crafting bespoke solutions where standard options fall short.

Responsibilities

• Partner with EY FAAS leadership in Switzerland to design and implement client-specific strategies.
• Coordinate with internal experts and other service lines to ensure seamless, integrated service delivery.
• Manage and execute projects focused on US GAAP and US capital markets advisory work.
• Provide SOX 404 advisory support for transactional work and assist with Day 2 transition topics.
• Contribute to initiatives that help clients meet emerging ESG disclosure mandates.
• Analyze client needs to shape and produce relevant deliverables.
• Mentor local staff and remote off-shore team members to enhance team capabilities.
• Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards while ensuring prompt project completion.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities for FAAS services and client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Accounting or Finance, plus additional professional qualifications.
• Two to five years of experience in audit or consulting, specializing in US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX, SEC, and US capital market transactions.
• Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, including managing remote or off-shore resources.
• Solid understanding of risk management principles combined with excellent technical writing abilities.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Advisory background in capital markets events like IPOs, public debt listings, or carve-outs.
• Practical experience managing SOX 404 processes and internal controls.
• Knowledge of IFRS to assist with GAAP conversion efforts.
• Proficiency in German and French.
