Manager - Financial Accounting Advisory Services - US focused markets group 100%

EY AG is seeking a Manager for its Financial Accounting Advisory Services team in Basel, focusing on US GAAP and capital markets projects. The role involves project leadership, client advisory, and supporting the growth of the US-Focused Markets Group.

This position supports the expansion of the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team in Switzerland. The role is dedicated to the US-Focused Markets Group, where you will lead and execute projects centered on US GAAP and US capital markets. The focus is on understanding client needs, asking the right questions, and providing tailored solutions rather than off-the-shelf products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with FAAS leadership in Switzerland to create and implement strategies for specific clients.
• Coordinate with other service lines and subject matter experts to deliver integrated services within an international team.
• Oversee and execute FAAS projects related to US GAAP and US capital markets, contributing to the expansion of the US-FMG.
• Ensure the team grasps client expectations to deliver clear, accurate, and well-presented results.
• Deliver work on schedule while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities for FAAS projects and relationships.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, plus relevant professional qualifications such as US CPA (preferred), Swiss CPA, ACCA, or CFA.
• Six to eight years of experience in audit or consulting, with a strong focus on US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX, SEC, and US capital market transactions.
• Advisory experience in capital markets transactions, including IPOs, public debt listings, or carve-outs, is highly encouraged.
• Demonstrated success in project leadership, including mentoring and improving teams of high-performing individuals.
• Strong technical writing skills and advanced knowledge of risk management.
• Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach, with intellectual curiosity and a willingness to go the extra mile.
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external networks in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Very good English skills (speaking and writing) are a prerequisite.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IFRS is not required but is a plus for supporting GAAP conversion projects.
• Proficiency in German and French is an advantage.
