Escatec Switzerland AG seeks a Senior Data Infrastructure & Architecture Engineer in Bern to modernize its data ecosystem using Microsoft Fabric and AI-driven analytics.
The company is looking for an experienced engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of its corporate data lake and database systems. This position plays a key role in modernizing the data environment by introducing next-generation technologies and ensuring robust, scalable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the corporate data lake infrastructure, database systems, and management reporting tools.
- Create, optimize, and sustain end-to-end data pipelines and ETL processes utilizing SSIS and Infor ETL utilities.
- Manage the SQL database environment, including performance tuning, access control, data refreshes, and system stability.
- Assess and deploy advanced technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and AI-driven analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with business units to define requirements and develop sophisticated Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Build and support complex workflows using Microsoft Power Platform components like Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Deliver senior-level support for data, ETL, and reporting inquiries while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
- Train business users on data literacy, AI tool adoption, and effective report usage.
- Lead specialized projects related to data infrastructure upgrades or technology migrations as needed.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of professional experience in data engineering, database administration, or technical business analysis.
- Strong practical skills in SQL Database Administration and optimizing complex relational database structures.
- Expert-level proficiency with SSIS and Infor ETL for transforming data and constructing enterprise-grade pipelines.
- In-depth understanding of Infor LN CE table structures and hands-on experience with Infor LN or Baan implementations.
- Practical knowledge of Infor CS Data Lake architecture and managing cloud or hybrid data repositories.
- Advanced capability in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling with DAX and analytical design.
- Demonstrated experience or strong technical skills with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
- Bachelor’s, Postgraduate Diploma, Professional, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience working within an electronic or electronics contract manufacturing (EMS) setting.
- Familiarity with or a strong interest in applying AI/ML tools, such as Copilot in Fabric/Power BI or predictive data modeling.
