This senior, strategic legal position serves as a key business partner for Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Switzerland. The role offers direct exposure to the Swiss leadership team and reports to the EMEA Senior Legal Director for Digital & Robotics. It is designed for a qualified lawyer seeking autonomy, high-level stakeholder interaction, and the opportunity to contribute to healthcare innovation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an independent strategic legal advisor to the Swiss MedTech business.
- Collaborate with business leaders as a trusted member of the local leadership team.
- Deliver timely legal counsel on commercial, corporate, healthcare compliance, contract, and tender issues.
- Guide tender teams through public procurement processes, identifying risks early and supporting innovative solutions.
- Review critical agreements and standardize processes for recurring legal matters.
- Enhance local legal workflows, templates, and guidelines to improve business efficiency.
- Train local teams on contract law, competition law, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, public procurement, and data/digital/AI topics.
- Track legal and regulatory changes and translate them into actionable insights for the Swiss MedTech division.
Requirements
- Swiss-qualified lawyer with a Master of Laws from a Swiss university preferred.
- Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
- 8-10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house, preferably in a multinational setting.
- Extensive experience in Swiss commercial and corporate law, including complex agreements.
- Practical knowledge of Swiss public procurement and tender procedures.
- Strong interest in healthcare, medical technology, and innovation.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and autonomy on strategic, novel, or high-risk legal issues.
- Pragmatic approach to assessing issues and providing clear recommendations.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to manage priorities and drive matters to conclusion.
- Comfortable working independently, building trust with senior stakeholders, and supporting compliant growth.
- Skill in simplifying complex legal matters into practical options and clear next steps.
- Collaborative team player able to work with legal, compliance, regulatory, finance, tender, and commercial colleagues.
- Clear communicator willing to take a position and actively participate in business and legal discussions.
