Novartis seeks a Senior Manager for Filmmaking & Storytelling in Basel to lead cinematic video production, directing global shoots and integrating AI tools to elevate the brand narrative.
This position functions as the primary creative lead and hands-on filmmaker for the Video and Digital Production team. Acting as the in-house director and producer for Corporate Marketing, the individual will drive the development, direction, and execution of cinematic projects to enhance the Novartis brand story on a global scale.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full production lifecycle of high-impact cinematic video content, from initial concept to final delivery.
- Direct and produce global shoots, ensuring the preservation of creative vision, technical quality, and narrative integrity.
- Serve as the principal producer or director for flagship initiatives, establishing the visual tone and narrative style.
- Partner with writers, external agencies, and internal stakeholders to convert strategic goals into engaging visual stories.
- Cultivate and maintain a network of top-tier production talent, including boutique agencies.
- Manage productions across diverse settings, adapting to various cultural and logistical demands.
- Integrate AI-driven tools and emerging technologies into pre-production and creative workflows to foster innovation.
- Deliver cost-effective, high-quality storytelling that reinforces brand reputation and achieves measurable business results.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in shaping visual storytelling with a distinct creative voice and strong authorship across multiple formats.
- Ability to identify and develop compelling narratives within a highly regulated industry context.
- Proficiency in translating strategic objectives into screen-ready concepts, with keen instincts for pacing, emotion, and audience engagement.
- Extensive background as a freelance or agency producer/director, supported by a portfolio of high-end commercial or documentary work.
- Proven track record of leading production crews, creative teams, and external partners through all production phases.
- Solid experience directing on-camera talent, including executives, employees, and non-actors.
- Strong grasp of cinematography, lighting, and camera language to guide technical teams toward the desired aesthetic.
- Hands-on experience with AI filmmaking tools, incorporating these innovations into workflows at every stage.
- Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
