The company seeks a Senior Mortgage Officer in Zürich to manage mortgage risk for domestic and international private banking clients, providing credit advisory and ensuring compliance with risk standards.
This position focuses on overseeing all mortgage risk elements for a portfolio of private banking clients. The role involves collaborating closely with Mortgage Advisors and Relationship Managers to design tailored credit solutions while delivering expert advisory services to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Approve credit limits within the authorized scope and determine risk ratings for credit facilities.
- Evaluate borrowers and collateral for credit, structural, legal, compliance, and reputational risks, including identifying concentration risks.
- Monitor credit exposure continuously, address overdue debt services, and conduct regular reviews of approved limits.
- Handle portfolio administration tasks such as mortgage booking and maintaining proper credit documentation.
- Act as a deputy for other Mortgage Officers and the Team Head when needed.
- Support Mortgage Advisors with credit-related matters, maintain proactive communication, and deliver credit training to the Private Banking front office.
- Contribute to credit-related projects and process improvements.
- Collaborate with legal and external counsel to draft non-standard credit transaction documents.
- Prepare and conduct training sessions for Mortgage Officers and Mortgage Advisors.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent studies in economics, banking, finance, law, or possess comparable professional experience.
- Demonstrate several years of professional experience in the mortgage sector, particularly with IPRE.
- Show proven knowledge of relevant real estate markets.
- Possess in-depth understanding of legal aspects concerning mortgage documents and borrowing structures.
- Achieve full professional proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
