Lonza seeks a Senior Scientist in Quality Control for its Biochemistry team in Visp, Switzerland. The position focuses on method validation, routine analytics coordination, and ensuring product quality to support patient care.
This position supports the Biochemistry Team at the Visp site by ensuring rigorous quality standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role is central to helping patients through the production of medicines, requiring the candidate to validate new analytical methods and oversee routine Quality Control activities alongside Lab Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Validate new analytical methods for biochemistry, including ELISA, qPCR, and Biacore.
- Develop and release technical documentation, including verification plans and final reports.
- Analyze verification data, identify weaknesses, and implement and monitor corrective actions.
- Coordinate routine Quality Control analytics with Lab Technicians and manage GMP deviations or Out of Specification/Out of Expectation (OOS/OOE) results.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Project Leaders.
Requirements
- University degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven work experience in Quality Control.
- Hands-on proficiency with analytical techniques such as ELISA and qPCR.
- Fluent command of the English language.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly within Quality Control, along with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Good proficiency in the German language.
