Proton seeks a German-speaking SEO Outreach Specialist in Zürich to drive organic growth through link-building campaigns for its privacy-focused products.

This position sits within the Organic team and concentrates on expanding the visibility of Proton’s suite of products in German-speaking regions. The primary objective is to support sustainable growth by securing high-quality backlinks and strengthening the brand’s presence in core markets through strategic outreach.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute outreach strategies to secure valuable backlinks.
• Build and nurture connections with journalists, editors, influencers, and webmasters.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as PR, content, and social media to align outreach efforts.
• Track and analyze campaign performance metrics, including link acquisition and ranking improvements.
• Research and evaluate potential linking prospects through competitive intelligence.
• Draft compelling outreach emails and negotiate placement terms.
• Perform regular competitor audits to uncover new link-building avenues.
• Ensure all activities comply with current SEO standards and search engine guidelines.
• Leverage media databases and standard SEO platforms for campaign management.

Requirements

• Fluent proficiency in both English and German, written and spoken.
• Educational background or professional experience in public relations or marketing.
• Proven track record of improving search engine visibility in diverse markets.
• Experience obtaining backlinks from prominent publications.
• Ability to develop outreach initiatives that provide long-term strategic value.
