SQL Server Consultant

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Mid-level SQL Server Consultant in Zürich for a hybrid permanent role. The position involves advising clients on database projects, requiring fluent German and strong technical skills in SQL Server and PowerShell.

The company is looking for a consultant to advise and support clients from various industries on their SQL Server database initiatives. This role focuses on providing expert guidance and hands-on support to ensure database projects are successful and aligned with client needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
• Design, build, and maintain database structures, optimizing them for performance and scalability.
• Monitor SQL Server performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Detect and eliminate bottlenecks to ensure smooth operation of queries and processes.
• Establish and oversee backup procedures and disaster recovery strategies.
• Provide continuous support for SQL Server issues, including troubleshooting, patching, and system updates.
• Facilitate data migration from other systems into SQL Server and integrate SQL Server with external applications.

Requirements

• A degree or higher education in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and practical experience in database administration.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL (Transact-SQL).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server SSIS and SQL Server SSAS.
• Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, specifically Always On.
• Ability to use PowerShell for automating database-related tasks.
• Fluent German (C1+) and proficient English language skills.
