Strategic Insights Specialist

Roche seeks a Strategic Insights Specialist in Basel to build portfolio monitoring systems and leverage AI for performance tracking within the Strategy Deployment Office.

This position sits within the Strategy Deployment Office, focusing on the creation of next-generation portfolio and performance monitoring for the PT division. The role is designed for a builder who can shape the approach, adopt new technologies early, and experiment with AI-enabled solutions. It offers direct exposure to senior leadership and the autonomy to drive innovation in data and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain a streamlined system to monitor the status, risks, and value of strategic initiatives.
• Develop KPI frameworks and dashboards to track delivery against performance targets.
• Pilot and integrate AI tools to automate data collection, reporting, and insight generation.
• Champion a network of contributors across Operations to ensure data quality and widespread adoption.
• Evaluate and simplify existing monitoring processes, removing complexity where it does not add value.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and visual stories for stakeholders.
• Support a regular governance rhythm by providing leadership with timely, relevant data for decision-making.
• Prepare concise updates and materials that turn system outputs into a narrative leadership can act upon.

Requirements

• MSc in Engineering, Life Science, Business Administration, Data/Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in business analytics, operations, PMO, or performance management.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization or Business Intelligence tools.
• Experience working in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders across functions and regions.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharma, life science, or a related industry.
• Site experience.
• Familiarity with Lean and Project Management (certification is a plus).
• Exposure to or strong interest in AI and automation tools applied to reporting and process design.
• Exposure to governance cadences (e.g., monthly/quarterly business reviews).
