Calatrava & Family Investments GmbH seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in Zurich to lead structural design for complex international building and bridge projects.
Based at the Zurich headquarters, this position focuses on the structural engineering of challenging international infrastructure and building works. The role covers the full design lifecycle, requiring technical leadership and coordination across multiple disciplines to deliver innovative structural solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for building and bridge projects across all design stages
- Manage technical aspects of projects
- Create structural concepts for reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures
- Oversee the coordination of construction drawings
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and external specialists
- Draft structural reports and prepare tender documentation
- Present planning outcomes to stakeholders
- Handle project management and client relations, depending on individual profile
Requirements
- University degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- At least five years of post-graduate professional experience
- Chartered, Professional Engineer status, or actively pursuing such accreditation
- Proven track record on medium to large-scale building, bridge, or infrastructure projects, ideally from concept through to construction
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with other consultants
- Proficiency with FEM modelling software
- Fluency in English and/or German
- EU or Swiss nationality, or eligibility to work in Switzerland
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Sofistik, SAP2000, or Cubus software suites
- Additional language skills
