Kanadeviainova in Zürich seeks a Structural Engineering Manager for onsite, permanent role. The position involves leading structural engineering projects within budget and timelines, ensuring compliance and coordination across technical teams, with a focus on waste-to-value innovation.
This role supports Kanadeviainova’s mission to transform waste into value through technology and innovation, contributing to sustainable infrastructure projects by leading structural engineering efforts from design to execution.
Responsibilities
- Design structural systems while staying within project budgets and deadlines.
- Create technical specifications for structural steel and assist the commercial team in selecting suppliers.
- Oversee project schedules and ensure engineering documentation is completed on time.
- Supervise suppliers during execution, including inspections, document reviews, quality checks, and resolving non-conformities.
- Coordinate with technical project management, EOR/AOR, third parties, and other project teams.
- Work with plant design, installation, piping, electrical, and control teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Maintain compliance with contractual, regulatory, quality, and HSE standards throughout the project.
- Support assembly, supplier audits, claims handling, and continuous improvement via project feedback and product management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with at least 3 years, in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering and project execution.
- Solid expertise in structural engineering software including Dlubal RSTAB/RFEM, CSI SAP2000, Bentley STAADPro, or similar 3D FEM tools.
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken, are required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and PIRS, along with strong technical documentation abilities.
- Experience managing technical interfaces and responding to customer engineering inquiries.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, negotiate, and make strategic decisions in dynamic environments.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of French or other languages is beneficial.
