Beyond Gravity seeks a Senior Analysis Engineer in Zürich to lead structural analysis for satellite and launcher projects, combining technical expertise with team management.

This position sits within a high-performing group focused on advancing technical capabilities in the aerospace sector. The incumbent will oversee task distribution for the structural analysis team, ensuring that complex projects are executed efficiently while mentoring staff and driving innovation in satellite and launch vehicle design.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and organize workload distribution for the structural analysis group across various projects.
  • Synchronize analysis efforts among multi-disciplinary teams collaborating on shared product developments.
  • Offer technical direction, coaching, and performance assessments to team members.
  • Execute structural evaluations for both composite and metallic components under static and dynamic conditions.
  • Build and verify finite element models utilizing FEMAP/NxNastran and ABAQUS.
  • Employ hand calculations and empirical approaches to confirm the accuracy of analytical results.
  • Analyze fasteners, lugs, and joints using established industry methodologies.
  • Create comprehensive Free Body Diagrams to support all structural assessments.
  • Lead concept studies that aid systems engineering objectives.
  • Engage in technical trade-off analyses to help select optimal solutions.
  • Monitor cost and schedule implications throughout the analysis and design stages.
  • Contribute to the creation of inspection and test plans.
  • Evaluate test data and correlate findings with analytical models.
  • Assist in predicting test outcomes and refining analysis methods based on post-test results.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation of analysis activities.
  • Attend internal and external design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Facilitate clear communication across engineering disciplines and with external stakeholders.
  • Perform linear analysis using FEMAP/NxNastran and non-linear simulations via ABAQUS.
  • Use MATLAB for data processing, modeling, and tool development.
  • Travel occasionally to U.S. and Swiss locations to support project needs and enhance collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field.
  • A decade of experience analyzing composite and metallic parts for aerospace or launch vehicle applications.
  • Ten years of proficiency in calculation methods, including hand calculations and CAE tools.
  • 10 years of experience developing and verifying structural models using Free Body Diagrams and manual calculations.
  • A decade of hands-on experience with FEA tools like FEMAP/NxNastran and ABAQUS, or equivalent non-linear solvers.
  • 10 years of experience using MATLAB for engineering analysis, data processing, and tool development.
  • A decade of experience preparing detailed technical reports for aerospace projects.
  • 10 years of experience managing analysis teams, including planning and coordinating cross-functional efforts.
  • A decade of experience ensuring engineering activities align with cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
  • 10 years of experience supporting test planning, evaluation, and correlating analysis tools with empirical data.
  • A decade of experience participating in technical reviews and providing engineering guidance to team members.
