Mission & Performance Analysis Engineer

Anavia seeks a Senior Mission & Performance Analysis Engineer in Bilten to simulate mission scenarios, evaluate aircraft performance, and support flight planning tools.

This position focuses on the simulation and evaluation of mission scenarios through advanced flight mechanics and performance modeling. The engineer plays a key role in developing mission planning tools and creating visualizations for the flight envelope, ensuring that operational data aligns with system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate aircraft efficiency, operational limits, and performance metrics throughout the entire flight envelope.
• Process data from flight tests and simulations to assess energy usage, mission key performance indicators, and overall aircraft behavior.
• Derive actionable insights by interpreting outputs from flight dynamics models.
• Manage aircraft mass properties via structured weight breakdowns, including center of gravity calculations and weight maturity tracking.
• Provide necessary performance and dynamics data to support flight control systems (FCS) and autopilot functions.
• Maintain alignment between flight physics models, mission analysis, and control system specifications.
• Participate in simulation-in-the-loop (SIL) and integrated validation activities.
• Assist in defining contingency scenarios and optimizing trajectories.
• Document analytical assumptions, findings, and recommendations to drive system and mission improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Deep knowledge of flight mechanics and aircraft performance principles.
• Proven experience utilizing flight simulation and analysis software.
• Strong capabilities in data analysis and scripting.
• Ability to interpret engineering data and work effectively with simulation models.
• Understanding of flight control system principles and associated data requirements.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Must hold Swiss or EU citizenship.

• Proficiency in the German language.
