AMAC Aerospace seeks a Mid-level Avionics & Electrical Engineer in Basel to design and test cabin and avionics systems for transport category aircraft.
The company is looking for an independent design engineer to handle the development of cabin-related and avionics systems. The role involves taking ownership of system designs from initial specifications through to testing and certification documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design cabin and avionics systems for transport category aircraft.
- Commission, modify, and test electrical and avionic systems during cabin completion projects.
- Create system specifications and service definitions.
- Assist with project preparation, including drafting quotations, order descriptions, and material orders.
- Produce layout drawings, block diagrams, wiring schematics, and item lists, while managing ECOs and PCRs.
- Develop installation instructions and technical documentation such as Engineering Orders (EO) and Service Bulletins (SB).
- Prepare procedures for ground and flight checks.
- Compile compliance reports and analyses for equipment qualification, wiring routing, installation, and safety assessments.
- Manage vendor information and manuals.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Avionic & Electrical Services, Airworthiness Office, and Mechanical Engineering teams.
- Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and test facilities.
- Select appropriate equipment, components, and materials.
- Create electrical wiring diagrams using Visio.
- Develop technical, safety, and certification documentation.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience.
- A degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CAD software.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in the aviation industry and design engineering.
- Strong communication skills in English, German, and/or French.
