Anavia seeks a Senior SRaM Engineer in Bilten, CH, to drive safety, reliability, and maintainability efforts for unmanned aviation systems in a rapidly growing environment.
As Anavia expands its operations in unmanned aviation, this position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft systems. The engineer will lead safety assessments, reliability modeling, and maintainability analyses to support certification and continuous improvement of lifecycle performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and update safety assessments for systems and aircraft, following ARP4761 and ARP4754A guidelines.
- Execute Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA) and System Safety Assessments (SSA) to aid design reviews and certification processes.
- Carry out fault tree analysis (FTA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and common cause analyses (CCA).
- Help draft and review Certification Plans, Safety Plans, and System Safety Program Plans (SSPP).
- Collaborate with airworthiness authorities, including EASA, FAA, and military bodies, on certification safety matters.
- Calculate quantitative reliability predictions using tools like Reliasoft, Windchill, or MIL-HDBK-217.
- Build reliability models for systems and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and manage FRACAS processes.
- Track and report key performance indicators such as MTBF and MTBR.
- Review field data and in-service feedback to spot trends and opportunities for enhancement.
- Perform maintainability analysis, including MTTR, fault isolation, access checks, and LRU architecture reviews.
- Assist in creating Maintenance Task Analyses (MTA) and Maintenance Manuals (AMM, CMM).
- Contribute to Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) outputs.
- Partner with production, customer support, and aftermarket teams to boost maintainability and lower lifecycle costs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in safety, reliability, or maintainability engineering within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Solid understanding of standards such as ARP4761, ARP4754A, CS-29/-27 (or FAR equivalents), MIL-STD-882, and MIL-HDBK-217.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- German language skills.
- Experience with analytical tools like Relex, Isograph, RAM Commander, FMEA software, or MATLAB.
- Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, or DO-160.
- Good understanding of aircraft systems, such as electrical, avionics, structures, or propulsion.
