RUAG MRO Holding in Emmen, CH, seeks a Senior Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) for avionics and electrical systems, with potential to become Deputy and successor COoA. The role involves ensuring airworthiness compliance for aircraft modifications and repairs, supporting certification processes, and mentoring junior engineers in a hybrid work environment.
As a Compliance Verification Engineer, you ensure that aircraft modifications and repairs meet international safety standards, playing a vital role in the certification process for both military and civil aviation projects. Your expertise supports the transition from engineering design to certified, safe operation.
Responsibilities
- Create and review certification documentation such as Certification Plans, Compliance Matrices, and Reports in coordination with the COoA and other project CVEs
- Assess and approve compliance documentation within your technical domain
- Manage certification-related coordination for assigned projects with authorities, engineering teams, and Technical Project Leaders, serving as the OoA contact point
- Maintain deep technical knowledge in avionics, electrical systems, and relevant airworthiness regulations
- Guide junior CVEs and design engineers, and oversee testing activities in your area of expertise
- Assist with design and new project initiatives as needed
- Act as the link between the Design Organisation and Competent Airworthiness Authorities, including managing certification issues, failure evaluations, and airworthiness directives
- Track regulatory updates and ensure their integration into Design Organisation Expositions, procedures, and forms, while supporting design assurance, staff guidance, and training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in Electrical, Avionics, or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in certifying electrical and avionics system designs and modifications, including recognition as an EASA-approved CVE within a Part 21J DOA organisation
- In-depth knowledge of ARP4754/4761, AC 25.1309, FHA/SSA, DO-160/178/254, EWIS, Human Factors, and EASA/EMAR Part 21 Subpart J (DOA) requirements
- Strong analytical and evaluation abilities, high reliability, meticulous attention to detail, and accuracy; proven ability to negotiate and execute certification strategies; excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent command of English
