AMAC Aerospace seeks a Senior Maintenance Project Engineer/Manager in Grenchen to lead aviation maintenance projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic, hands-on environment.
This position is responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned maintenance projects, reporting directly to the Manager of Maintenance Project Management. The role serves as the primary technical contact for both internal teams and customers, aiming to enhance efficiency and productivity for Part 145 Maintenance and Part 21 Production operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance projects from initial contract signing through to aircraft redelivery.
- Act as the central point of contact for all technical project matters before, during, and after execution.
- Ensure thorough project preparation, including manpower allocation, slot management, planning, critical path analysis, internal communication, parts ordering, and tooling.
- Organize and lead pre-input, internal, and customer follow-up meetings.
- Create, update, and distribute Gantt charts highlighting critical paths and key milestones.
- Allocate man-hour budgets to production teams.
- Verify that project teams have sufficient resources to achieve optimized outcomes.
- Manage aircraft incoming phases and coordinate reviews with customers and shops to address incoming snags.
- Coordinate activities across all stakeholders, including customers, production, planning, purchasing, logistics, shops, engineering, and third-party vendors.
- Identify efficient solutions for unexpected findings or major issues impacting the schedule to minimize delays.
- Serve as the focal point for project cost monitoring and control.
- Support the billing process to issue final invoices prior to aircraft departure or as specified in the contract.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leading role or as a Project Manager within the MRO sector.
- At least five years of aviation experience with solid technical knowledge.
- A degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent education.
- Strong understanding of the aerospace industry, OEMs, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in MS-Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office Project.
- Current certifications in HF, FTS, EWIS, and Part 145 Continuation.
- Fluent verbal and written English skills.
- Valid driving license.
