System Engineer Openshift - Consultant

Union Bancaire Privée seeks a Mid-level System Engineer Consultant in Geneva to manage Red Hat OpenShift and Unix/Linux infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance within the financial sector.

This position focuses on the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of Red Hat OpenShift platforms. The engineer will operate within heterogeneous environments, including AIX, Solaris, and RHEL, while supporting application migrations that adhere to strict financial-sector security standards.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and adapt OpenShift clusters on underlying Unix and Linux systems.
• Install, migrate, and operate Unix and Linux environments.
• Plan and manage system storage and related capacity.
• Ensure security, resilience, and compliance across environments.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Install and configure OpenShift components and RHEL and Unix OSes.
• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade OpenShift clusters and their operators.
• Apply and test OS and platform patches.
• Develop and implement security and management procedures.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve system and platform incidents.
• Lead projects including migrations to OpenShift.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years as Unix/Linux systems administrator.
• Proven experience deploying and operating OpenShift or Kubernetes in production.
• Knowledge of major Unix/Linux distributions: IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris.
• Understanding of storage and network technologies.
• Understanding of database concepts.
• Familiarity with at least one enterprise backup solution.
• Swiss Residence.

Nice to have

• Financial sector experience is preferred.
