Alstom seeks a Traction System Team Leader in Zürich to manage eight engineers, drive innovation in railway traction systems, and ensure high performance and sustainability standards.
This position focuses on developing advanced traction systems for rail vehicles, emphasizing performance, innovation, and sustainability. The leader will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources effectively, and champion continuous improvement within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Guide a team of eight engineers covering requirements management, system performance, energy efficiency, and compatibility.
- Oversee personnel management, including onboarding new staff and conducting performance reviews.
- Allocate resources for development and execution projects.
- Conduct the People Management Cycle, setting objectives and planning career development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
- Provide technical guidance and process expertise to support project delivery.
- Foster the technical and leadership growth of team members.
- Ensure adherence to and improvement of standard methodologies and tools.
Requirements
- A university degree (HF, FH, or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
- Three to five years of professional experience in traction systems.
- Fluent proficiency in both German and English for reading, writing, and technical discussions.
Nice to have
- Leadership training such as a CAS or equivalent certification.
- At least three years of experience in team and project management.
