AniCura Schweiz seeks a Senior Veterinary Cardiologist in Thun to lead cardiology referrals, perform advanced diagnostics, and mentor staff within a large, well-equipped small animal clinic.
This position sits within one of Switzerland’s largest small animal medicine centers. The primary objective is to develop and expand the cardiology referral service, ensuring high-level specialized care for complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cardiac conditions for both inpatient and outpatient animals.
- Conduct advanced diagnostic procedures, including echocardiography and electrocardiograms.
- Manage patient cases and maintain clear communication with pet owners.
- Collaborate closely with internal medicine, surgical, and emergency teams.
- Mentor interns and junior veterinarians to support their professional growth.
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through regular knowledge sharing and direct contact.
- Provide expert advice and support to both pet owners and external veterinary practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing training of colleagues and assist in expanding the neurology department.
Requirements
- A completed degree in veterinary medicine.
- Board certification as a Diplomate of ACVIM (Cardiology) or ECVIM-CA (Cardiology), or being board-eligible.
- Fluency in either English or German.
