Accounting Specialist

Idorsia seeks an Accounting Specialist in Allschwil to manage accounts payable, support financial closing, and drive process automation within an international finance team.

This position sits within a collaborative, global finance group at Idorsia. The primary goal is to ensure precise financial reporting while actively advancing the digitalization and automation of accounting workflows. The role supports the company’s broader mission to develop innovative medicines for patients.

Responsibilities

• Handle vendor invoices with strict adherence to internal guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Evaluate and process employee expense reports and payment requests.
• Execute payment runs, including bank postings and reconciliation tasks.
• Manage accounts payable subledgers and investigate any posting errors.
• Address questions from vendors and internal teams regarding invoices, payments, and account status.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, including audit support and VAT reporting.
• Participate in ERP system improvements and initiatives to streamline finance processes.

Requirements

• A commercial apprenticeship or equivalent credential, combined with practical accounting experience.
• Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a comparable accounting capacity.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and accounts payable operations.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to have

• Additional education or a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in German and/or French.
• Prior experience working in an international corporate environment.
