Ruag seeks a Mid-level Aircraft Technician for F/A-18 maintenance in Switzerland. The role involves servicing military aircraft to support national security, requiring Swiss citizenship and technical vocational training.
This position is located within the service and maintenance division at RUAG. The primary purpose of the role is to maintain aircraft and military systems, thereby contributing directly to the security of Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Conduct both preventive and corrective maintenance on F/A-18 jets and other future military aircraft.
- Perform inspections, functional checks, and testing based on official technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems.
- Implement technical modifications and process change orders.
- Support aircraft preparation and return-to-service procedures.
- Maintain accurate traceability of all work performed and keep maintenance records up to date.
- Promote safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement within maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Completion of vocational training in an electro-technical discipline, such as Polymechanic, Automation technician, or Electromechanical technician.
- Proficient technical English skills.
- Fluency in either French or German.
- Possession of a Category B driving licence.
- Swiss citizenship is mandatory due to the military and air force nature of the function.
Nice to have
- A strong passion for aviation and complex technical systems.
- A reliable, precise, and team-oriented personality with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Knowledge of a second national language.
- Previous experience in aviation or military jets, including EASA Part-66 modules or B1/B2 licenses.
- Familiarity with SAP or other IT management systems.
