Ferrum in Schafisheim seeks a Bachelor’s or Master’s student for a 6-month fixed-term role in project development and R&D, combining thesis work with hands-on mechanical engineering projects.

This position allows candidates to execute a practical Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis focused on Project Development or R&D. The role involves active participation in development, optimization, and industrialization projects within the mechanical engineering sector.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical conceptualization, design solutions, and engineering changes.
  • Analyze opportunities to improve functionality, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Help create and update technical documentation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Production, Project Management, and Service.
  • Present findings and propose concrete recommendations for action.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Design, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical principles in mechanical engineering.
  • Initial experience with CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Fluency in German and English.

Nice to have

  • A technical vocational background or prior practical experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to speak Polish.
