Mechanical Engineering Internship - Digital Prototyping & Innovation (6-12 Months)

The Digital Prototyping team at Sika Europe Management AG is inviting a motivated Mechanical Engineering student to join for a period of six to twelve months. This position allows candidates to apply their engineering knowledge to real-world challenges that influence research, manufacturing support, and new product development. The team aims to turn abstract concepts into physical solutions by integrating engineering expertise with advanced prototyping technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine CAD models and assemblies.
• Set up and operate professional-grade 3D printing equipment.
• Execute 3D scanning procedures and perform reverse engineering tasks.
• Assist with rapid prototyping initiatives.
• Develop technical visualizations and demonstrations for projects.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing-related issues.
• Take part in innovation and product development activities.
• Record engineering solutions and established best practices.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate strong technical curiosity and a desire to learn new skills.
• Show a hands-on attitude and enthusiasm for building and creating.
• Possess foundational knowledge of CAD software (any major platform).
• Have an interest in product development, manufacturing technologies, and innovation.
• Work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Communicate effectively within an international team setting.
