Clinical Trials Expert

Roche seeks a Senior Clinical Trials Expert in Basel to lead end-to-end study activities within pRED CO, focusing on patient-centric delivery and operational excellence.

Positioned within Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) Clinical Operations, this senior role oversees the full lifecycle of clinical studies. The incumbent is responsible for driving productivity and ensuring study delivery aligns with a patient-centric approach, managing everything from initial system setup through to final close-out.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain study-specific solutions to ensure high portfolio performance.
• Manage the implementation of essential tools, reports, and system maintenance throughout the trial lifecycle.
• Oversee study startup activities, including RFP input, document authoring, and site personnel training.
• Define and refine study strategies within the assigned domain of expertise.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Create and update oversight documentation, charters, processes, and best practices.
• Monitor study progress and resolve issues in collaboration with affiliates, sites, and CROs.
• Standardize and support clinical portfolio activities such as training materials, SOPs, and processes.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience, ideally in life sciences.
• Extensive background in pharmaceutical or healthcare drug development.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial environments, ICH-GCP guidelines, and lifecycle interdependencies.
• Proficiency with clinical trial management tools, including IxRS, eCOA, centralized endpoint review, and digital biomarkers.
• Solid understanding of business performance improvement methodologies.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required by specific programs.
