Clinical Scientist in neurosciences

Roche seeks a Clinical Scientist in neurosciences (Mid-level) based in Basel, CH, to support early development priorities and clinical trials for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

This position sits within Roche’s global Early Development department for Neuroscience and Rare Disease. The role focuses on advancing the company’s latest development priorities and supporting meaningful innovations that impact the neuroscience community.

Responsibilities

  • Create and refine clinical science content for Clinical Development Plans.
  • Assist in drafting protocols, informed consent forms, and case report forms, while coordinating across functions.
  • Prepare internal and external presentations, abstracts, posters, and materials for scientific meetings.
  • Carry out the Medical Data Review Plan, analyze data, and help compile study reports.
  • Act as medical monitor for Phase 1 and Phase 2 trials targeting Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Apply advanced imaging methods, such as neuromelanin-MRI, to track neurodegeneration in relevant conditions.
  • Manage written communications with Ethics Committees and Health Authorities, including briefing documents and responses to regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

  • A medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in clinical development.
  • Understanding of global laws, regulations, and guidelines governing clinical trial execution.
  • Basic knowledge of medical aspects related to GCP, ICH, FDA, EMA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Strong teamwork abilities, with proven success collaborating within geographically dispersed global teams.

Nice to have

  • An advanced degree in clinical science or a related field (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MSN, MPH) is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in clinical development is advantageous.
  • Prior involvement in therapeutic area-specific clinical trials or demonstrated ability to quickly learn with support.
