Compliance and Legal Officer

Michael Page seeks a Compliance and Legal Officer in Geneva for a permanent, on-site role within a digital banking team. The position requires fluent English and French skills to support regulatory compliance and legal operations.

This position functions as a second-line compliance advisor within a lean team at a digital banking institution. The role is responsible for handling strategic, operational, and administrative duties while providing guidance to internal business units. It plays a key part in maintaining regulatory standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver second-line compliance guidance and support to internal operational and business teams.
• Help implement, track, and document compliance controls.
• Participate in reviewing and updating internal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
• Track Swiss and international regulatory changes and evaluate their effect on bank activities.
• Assist with regulatory analysis for new business initiatives, including digital assets and crypto.
• Handle daily legal and compliance queries.
• Review, analyze, and coordinate legal or contractual documents as needed.
• Collaborate with onboarding, operations, risk, and business stakeholders.
• Support internal projects, process improvements, and regulatory change initiatives.
• Ensure a smooth handover and continuity in compliance and legal activities.

Requirements

• Prior experience in compliance within financial services, preferably in a FINMA-regulated setting.
• Solid understanding of banking compliance, regulatory requirements, and financial products.
• Fluent proficiency in both English and French.

Nice to have

• Experience with online trading, CFDs, digital assets, crypto, brokerage, or investment platforms.
• A legal background or legal training.
• Availability to start immediately or with short notice.
