Julius Bär seeks a Senior Compliance Officer to strengthen its Control Framework team in Zürich. This onsite role focuses on global control governance, data-driven surveillance, and cross-functional collaboration within the 2nd Line of Defense.
Positioned within the Global Compliance Division’s 2nd Line of Defense, this role aims to reinforce the Control Framework team in Switzerland. The incumbent will work closely with global Compliance colleagues to align and enhance the overarching control framework, ensuring robust governance and operational effectiveness across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist Risk Type and Taxonomy Owners in creating globally applicable controls and data-driven surveillance mechanisms.
- Guide local Compliance control owners in the operational implementation of 2nd Line of Defense controls.
- Maintain and oversee the Global Compliance control inventory.
- Prepare or review presentations for various committees, including a dedicated control governance body.
- Partner with Compliance Analytics to advance the strategic global control tool solution.
- Enhance and expand Compliance control result reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing closure documentation for assigned audit actions.
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, CRO, Audit, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent in economics, law, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management or Compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in control frameworks and Compliance risk or taxonomy topics.
- Ability to interpret data output, identify patterns, and collaborate with data analysts.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Project experience in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of project management solutions like JIRA or Confluence.
- Additional languages such as German, French, or Spanish.
