Consultant, Climate Change and Sustainability Services Financial Services - Geneva

EY AG seeks a Mid-level Consultant for Climate Change and Sustainability Services in Zurich or Geneva, focusing on sustainable finance, ESG reporting, and regulatory implementation for financial sector clients.

The company is expanding its Climate Change and Sustainability Services Team within the broader Assurance Advisory division. This position involves leading market-leading projects, advising on strategic sustainable finance issues, and building professional networks. The role is based in either Zurich or Geneva, Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Manage client projects covering various sustainability topics, including regulatory implementation and sustainability reporting assurance for financial services organizations.
• Develop innovative commercial insights for clients, adapting methods to fit operational and cultural contexts while contributing to thought leadership.
• Drive projects to completion with high standards, improving operational efficiency and ensuring industry-leading deliverables.
• Foster a positive learning culture by collaborating closely with colleagues.
• Enhance EY’s technical capabilities and advise clients on applying these methodologies to their businesses.
• Work with colleagues across different disciplines and geographies to deliver multi-faceted projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, environmental sciences, or a related field.
• Internship or work experience in ESG, sustainable finance, or climate risk, preferably in advisory, consulting, or assurance roles within financial institutions or consulting firms.
• For the Geneva role: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
• For the Zurich role: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with non-financial information, integrated reporting, or assurance of ESG data.
• Strong knowledge of SDGs, GHG accounting, PCAF, carbon footprinting, or Life Cycle Analysis.
• Familiarity with AI tools, data analytics, or generative AI, with the ability to apply them in consulting.
• German language skills are an advantage for the Geneva position.
• French language skills are an advantage for the Zurich position.
