Cyber Security Engineer

Idorsia seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer in Allschwil to manage vulnerability and email security platforms, ensuring IT resilience and compliance through hands-on technical operations.

This position sits within the Cybersecurity & AI Services team at Idorsia. The primary objective is to safeguard the organization against cyber threats using a practical, technical approach. The role is critical for maintaining the resilience, regulatory compliance, and overall security posture of the IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor vulnerability management and email security platforms on a daily basis.
• Gradually take over full system administration duties for these security platforms.
• Identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents, with a focus on vulnerabilities and email-related events.
• Refine platform configurations, integrations, and automation workflows.
• Keep documentation, procedures, and technical records up to date to ensure audit readiness.
• Assist with log centralization efforts and support security awareness initiatives.
• Work closely with cybersecurity and IT colleagues to deliver secure and compliant services.
• Drive continuous improvement in security processes, tools, and operational methods.
• Keep abreast of new technologies, CVE advisories, and best practices in vulnerability and email security.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a technical cybersecurity role.
• Solid knowledge of operating systems, networking, and IT infrastructure.
• Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with vulnerability management tools and processes.
• Familiarity with email security platforms, log collection, SIEM tools, or security awareness solutions.
• Background in penetration testing, scripting, or software development.
